Happy Valentine's Day

I hope someone treats you especially nice today and you do the same. I suspect that Spring is in the air in some parts of the Northern Hemisphere and that gets the hormones flowing. Especially in the young and young at heart. Here on the farm we will be locked in winter's grip for a while yet, but the lengthening days have got the chickens ovaries working again and egg production is picking up.

The only heart picture I have is this one of a friend, Folke, in Sweden. I got my horse, Draugen from his wife before they moved back to Sweden to work the family tree farm. Look at the tongue in the lower right of the picture and think of loving thoughts.

  1. Nice. Stout horses. Too big for Shetlands but they look a lot like them.

  6. Gorgeous fjordings!!! The people who co-own one of my Leonbergers with us have a Fjord horse farm on the west coast of Norway. We had one also once upon a time, just borrowed her...she reminded me of a labrador...hehehehehe....

You´re very sweet to suggest a lunchonette...the thought has definitely struck me but I have too many dogs to devote the time I´d need too to such a business. But I do love feeding people....so who knows...maybe someday....I´ve thought about a little B&B also...that would be fun and I could still have my doggies...

  8. Look at those winter coats. Makes me cold just staring at them. It also makes my arms tired thinking of the brushing that's coming soon. But then...as you're chickens are pointing out...there's no holding back spring. HOOORAY. Thanks for the hope.

  9. What a great shot!!! What are the chances of capturing that heart again?

Noticing significantly more light here too. No longer necessessary for my ice swimming gang to wear headlights at 7am.

I never thought about egg production decreasing or increasing due to sunlight! Makes sense!!!!

    Klem, ( hugs på Norsk)
