I was daydreaming about Iceland the other day and decided to check up on my friends at Polar Hestar. They have a webcam that takes pictures in front of their barn. Sometimes there is snow and sometimes not. Even the dog and cat show up. Then, sometimes, they get a bunch of people to start getting the horses in shape for the summer tours. There was a little longing in my heart when I saw this a few days ago.
Needless to say, I get a little dreamy when I see this sort of thing.
I love webcams - they really make you feel like you are there for those few seconds!ReplyDelete
One of these days I intend to go for a ride on an Icelandic horse. Horseriding is not anything I have ever really experienced and they say the Icelandic horse is good for beginners, young and old...it is on my bucket list.ReplyDelete
Have things changed so much that Iceland was once ice and Greenland green?ReplyDelete
IRBiI, I agree! You can travel around the world with webcams.ReplyDelete
Vicki, you really should go. It may be a fun and different way to do some geocaching.
Mr. C, Depending on which story you believe, they may have been purposely misnamed, although Greenland settlers died off because of climate change and unwillingness to adapt to the indigenous ways of survival.
Sounds fantastic! I hope you can go there soon, and blog about it!ReplyDelete
Individual webcams are amazing to me. When you talk about talking out the SB card and putting it in the TV, I think it is "over the hill". I thought I was a bit techie but you make me feel like an old fogie.ReplyDelete
I also am having Nordic Dreams. Have found an Icelandic horse farm just 20 minutes from my Cousin Alice on Zealand and want to take my little cousins riding along the beach at Isefjord. It is on my bucket list.
Cool. I've never been north of the Arctic Circle. Then I looked on the map and realized if I went to Iceland, I STILL wouldn't have made the grade.ReplyDelete
Was in Newfoundland once, but just on a layover on the plane to Europe.
One of these days ...
Of course you get a little dreamy and if there's a small twinge of an ache in the heart area, that is only right and proper.ReplyDelete
Iceland looks like a wonderful place to see. I've never been there but between the webcam shot and a couple of intriguing documentaries, Iceland is now a "must do" item on the bucket list.ReplyDelete
This is so clever. A webcam on your dreams. This will be the 7th time I've tried to get a comment to post. I simply can't get through the capcha.ReplyDelete
Donna,it is an amazing place, but I'm a bit up in the air as to when I'll get back.ReplyDelete
Nina, it is fun to watch life as it happens around the world.
Sightings, if you go all the way to the north and catch a ferry or flight to Grimsey (island) you will be there.
Friko, I have always had a small fantasy life going on in my head.
CD, Iceland was the most unexpected surprise of my adult life.
Anon, I tried a few things, but it doesn't seem to help. I started this with Wordpress, but had way too many problems.
I really want to visit Iceland! I spent a couple of hours in the Keflavik Airport once on my way back from the UK. I bought some great mittens.ReplyDelete
